SOSP I Chronicles 19: The Miraculous Within the Battle

The Miraculous within the Battle

I Chronicles 19

Be strong, and let us use our strength for our people and for the cities of our God, and may the Lord do what seems good to him.

1 Chronicles 19:13 ESV

Are you fascinated by the battles written about in the Old Testament? I definitely am. God always makes a way for His people. For many years I read the stories of these battles, but often missed the incredible miracles that God performed in the battle.

There was a time recounted that people had to hold Moses’ arms up to win the battle.

Whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, and whenever he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands grew weary, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it, while Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. So his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

Exodus 17:11-12 ESV

Crazy miraculous stuff.

At times, life seems to be a battle. I asked myself this morning, do I miss the miracles because I’m distracted by the battle?

It is a human response and I am sure that it is not a completely unexpected by Jesus. I do believe that He wants us to see His hand within the messiness of our battles.

Life is messy. It is not what I imagined it to be. Yet, God is good. He will continue to fight and win my battles while I wait to spend eternity with Him. He does the same for you. Every day. Every night. He is with us always.

PRAYER: Jesus, thank You for Your miraculous ways. You are great. You are mighty. You are for me. You fight battles that I may never know You were fighting for me. Help me to recognize the miracles within the battles.
