I Chronicles 17

Let’s make today a great day!!

And yet this was a small thing in your sight, O God; and you have also spoken of your servant’s house for a great while to come, and have regarded me according to the rank of a man of high degree, O Lord God.

1 Chronicles 17:17 NKJV

God can see so much more that us. He sees generations with a much different perspective than we do. For God to bless multiple generations it is not a great undertaking for him. For God can do all things. But David recognized that even though it was “easy” for God, he knows that God has blessed him in a rare way by lifting David so high in esteem.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV

God gives me mercy by grace, because I was completely redeemed by God through the work of Christ on the cross and his resurrection. But God will still choose to reward us! In all my failings he still rewards me and wants good for me in all things.

I am blessed more than I deserve through salvation alone and my reward in eternity with God in heaven. But still God blesses me! I think of this entire verse as one of thanksgiving and humility. God’s blessing and rewards to are strictly a gift he chooses to give and by those gifts I can see my faith enriched so much.

Humble yourselves then, under God’s mighty hand, so that he will lift you up in his own good time. Leave all your worries with him, because he cares for you.

1 Peter 5:6-7 NIV

I can think of so many ways God has blessed me but one of the biggest is my children. I was told long ago I would not be able to have children. That was just something I could not and would not believe, even though it was a struggle for a long time and a long season of waiting.

But God! – I have 2 beautiful twin girls who are 26 today!! And one amazing son who is 22.

Don’t you tell me he can’t do it! – Love that song!

Prayer – Father, please continue to open my eyes to see your blessing with the proper perspective. Help me to stay humble and awestruck, but also confident and believing. You are mighty and powerful, gracious and good. Thank you for the blessingsyou have given me, according to your will. In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.
