Tribes of Greatness

1 Chronicles 8
The sons of Ulam were brave warriors who could handle the bow. They had many sons and grandsons—150 in all. All these were the descendants of Benjamin.
1 Chronicles 8:40 NIV
This is another chapter focusing on genealogy. We get to see some of the men that came before and after Saul.
As I read this chapter I was curious about the 150 descendants of Benjamin. As I began to study, I found that the tribe of Benjamin was the smallest out of the 12 tribes but a few really important people came from this tribe. In this chapter, we see Saul came from this tribe. He was the first king of Israel. Throughout the Bible, we will find that Ester and Paul are both from the tribe of Benjamin.
When I look at these examples of the descendants, I see how a small tribe had some really impactful people. God can use each of them for a major purpose. This serves as a reminder to me that regardless of my history, I can also be used by God in a major way. The way good uses me today can tremendously impact the future.

Lord, thank you for your word. I am honestly surprised at the things I discover while reading. Help me to continue to get to know your word so that I can be used to impact the world around me. In Jesus' name. Amen
