Romans 4
“Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are put out of sight. Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of sin.” Romans 4:7-9
Read those words in Romans 4:7-9 again. I don’t know who is reading this today, but if you have given your life to Jesus, this verse is for you.

Joy is for you!
I wanted to make sure those words stood out. This joy is not the dictionary definition of joy. It is not a joy that is understood by those who have not given their life to Jesus. It is often not fully understood by those who have given their lives to Jesus. And, it does not often make sense.
It does not make sense because it is a:
Joy that transcends circumstances.
It transcends your circumstances today, yesterday, and all the tomorrows. It is a joy that transcends sorrow, pain, disappointment, failure, finances, marriage, divorce, anger, trauma, hate.
We live in a very broken world that does not have joy. It is not an easy thing to read this verse in Romans and apply it to our lives today. There are people reading this that have difficult circumstances, traumas that are unimaginable, pain that cannot be described. It is possible that no person can comprehend what you are feeling, what you are going through, or what you have endured. There are so many times that horrible things happen that cannot be explained, that we did not choose, that are unfair.
Jesus does know and Jesus does understand. This joy is still for you. Jesus wants you to experience the joy that only He can give. Ask Jesus today, right now, to help you experience a moment of His joy. He will. His promises that are in His Word - this joy is a promise - will help guide your day. The joy will help guide your thoughts. The joy will help guide guide your decisions. Jesus will be with you in all things and will not leave you.
