Faith

“And without faith, it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Where would I be without faith? Having faith is believing in something that you can’t see. We need faith to please God but how do we build our faith in God? I think for some it comes quickly but for others, it can take years to build faith. What the above scripture is telling me is that you have to seek the Lord to build your faith. He wants us to know him and while we are getting to know him, we will know his character, his promises, and his plans for our lives. It’s so much easier to have faith in someone that you know. The closer we get to him the stronger our faith grows.

“but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40‬:‭31‬ ‭ESV‬‬

This kind of made me think about this past year and what I put my faith in. Who was I getting to know? Was I focused on the election? Was I focusing on all my fears or was I spending time with the Lord?  All of the distractions made it difficult to spend uninterrupted time with the Lord. I wish I could have done a little better but, what’s so great about God is that even though I was distracted by everything, he found a way to grab my attention. In every small group, I attended and pressed olives post I read, God reminded me to draw near to him.
