The Light Has Come

“And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.””

‭‭Luke‬ ‭1‬:‭41‬-‭45‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Children are a gift from the Lord.

I know my understanding of Elizabeth is limited. I cannot fathom the joy nor the wild faith, relief, or awe she must’ve felt. I know that only a woman who has experienced the battle of barrenness (infertility) could know this. There are battle scars and wounds left by loved ones. There is pain, doubt, fear, and anguish to wrestle. There are long battles in the dark while starving for the light to come.

The Light does come!

“And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”

‭‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Your God is the same God who filled Sara, Rachel, Hannah, and Elizabeth’s womb, they were barren no more. He’s the same God who answered your friend’s prayer and will answer yours. Jesus is the One who makes miracles. He is the One who commands the winds to be still and the waters to calm.

The Light has come!

This is a beautiful picture of 2 pregnant women with miraculous wombs.

When Mary spoke (not Jesus) the baby (John the Baptist) in Elizabeth’s womb rejoiced for the coming Messiah in Mary’s belly. God had already imparted Spirit into a baby unborn. Isn’t that absolutely incredible? That an unborn child could be sensitive to the presence of God not even manifested in the flesh yet. It boggles my mind.

“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139‬:‭13‬-‭16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

And at Mary’s greeting, the one who carries the Messiah, Elizabeth is filled with the Holy Spirit.

We carry so much more than we know when we’re filled with God’s Spirit. The same wonder working power within Christ is now imparted to us. That changes things.

That changes my mind.

That changes environments and atmospheres.

That changes my future.

That changes other’s futures too.

The Light has come and is living within you. Don’t coverup the working power, the good news, and the miracles He has already performed by placing them beneath a lamp shade.

Jesus says:

““You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“But give reverent honor in your hearts to the Anointed One and treat him as the holy Master of your lives. And if anyone asks about the hope living within you, always be ready to explain your faith”

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭15‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Prayer: God you have been so so kind to me. Thank you for weaving me together in my mother’s womb, thank you for knowing every delicate detail. You are my light in dark times. You are my hope & promise. Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord. I stand bright on a hill, expectant for your promise, and ready to give an account of the hope that is within me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Did you decorate your tree yet? To be completely transparent this is my least favorite thing about decorating for Christmas.

This year we cut way back on the ornaments. My mom said: "No ornaments on the tree this year?" I said "they're there."

But it has given me so much peace and joy. I feel so much lighter and and less stressed. Give it a try.

“Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭103‬:‭1‬-‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I read this this morning and it stood out to me. Jumped out at me. Redeems my life from the pit and crowns me. Crowns me. Amen. I’m so lucky to be so loved.

Ps- I love these pics of you and the kids! ❤️
