Keep it in Mind

"The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told."
Luke 2:20
Remembering is so simple. So why is it so hard? We sure do a good job recounting when it’s fresh. When our faith is revived and invigorated. When we see the goodness of God.
We are so quick to forget though. Did you know forget is used 352 times in the scripture? And when its synonyms are counted, that number grows to more than 550. I'm pretty certain remembering is important to to the Lord.

The root of remember is to keep in mind or to be mindful. I can't speak for anyone else but this may be why I forget. I don't keep it in mind. When time and space come between my miracle and my present, I forget.
”And you shall tell your son in that day, saying, ‘This is done because of what the Lord did for me when I came up from Egypt.’“
Exodus 13:8 NKJV

In the Old Testament two ways come to mind on how God encourages us to remember. By setting up pillars of reminders and by sharing all the things God has done for us.
”Tell your children about it, Let your children tell their children, And their children another generation.“
Joel 1:3 NKJV

Take the opportunity whenever you can and share what God has done for you. Rememthe small things, remember the BIG things. Recount, recall, and keep it in mind. God does amazing things.
Recently, I took the girls to see the Nutcracker. We bought the tickets the day of. And though we got seats, not one of them was together. 2 were in the same row and 1 was in a completely different section and 8 rows ahead. I knew this was a possibility but I had been praying…..
Can you guess? We all were able to sit together. In perfect center seats. 3 seats together when we started with not even 2 together. Yes, it’s small. And yet it’s BIG at the same time. I don’t want to forget God can do it. So, I’m going to keep the gap between remembering, sharing, and keeping it in mind small.

Prayer: Thank you Lord for giving me so many opportunities to remember Your works, your goodness, kindness, and Your miracles that you are working for my good.
I am sorry for my forgetfulness and for allowing doubt to collude my faith. Forgive me Lord. Grow my faith. Thank you and I love You Lord. In Jesus’s name, amen.
Remember
I encourage you to take some time and remember. Tell your story. Write it down. Share it. Tell your children. Tell your friends. Tell your colleagues. Tell us! Take the opportunity and share and remember God’s goodness.
