This is evidence of the great commission before we were commissioned. Go! Spread the Word! Share the Good News! Peace on Earth and Good will towards Mankind! Evangelize. Tell everyone can about He who sooo loved them that He sent His son Jesus to die for them and save them!

I’ve heard it said we all have the same assignment. Our gifting is different and yet we don’t have the privilege of changing God’s commissioning of us.

Our advent devotional has led us to today.  We’ve been preparing, intentionally slowing down, making room for Jesus in the Inn of our hearts. We’ve lingered and meditated on hope, joy, peace, and love.

I can’t help but to think that (full) obedience is the expression of love. And yet I know I haven’t fully obeyed Him. I say I love Him. I say He is Lord. And yet I rebel, I question, I doubt. I’m putting all of that behind me today. I’m not going to allow my weakness, my failure, or that pesky condemnation steal what the Lord came to give.

Aren’t you grateful someone shared Jesus with you? I know I am. I haven’t always walked with the Lord. I was wayward, sinful, rebellious…. And loved it. But there came a time when my only hope was Jesus.

Be encouraged today to keep throwing out life lines to those you love, to colleagues, to anyone who will listen. They may not need it today but there is a tomorrow when God will bring it to mind and they will reach out.

Merry Christmas dear friends!

Get out there and see some lights. Take a walk in a well lit community tonight. Go to the zoo. Check out the beautiful displays downtown. It's cold but best observed walking. Bundle up, make done hot cocoa, and make memories.
