ISAIAH 14

Isaiah is full of prophecies that God speaks through people. This chapter is no exception. It can sometimes seem difficult to pull out personal meaning from prophetic words that were given to the Israelites, and in this case, about the Assyrians. The history is incredible and I would encourage anyone reading this to do some studying about these historic times. When I read this chapter, though, I was moved by this verse:

The Lord of Heaven’s Armies has sworn this oath:

“It will all happen as I have planned. It will be as I have decided."

 Isaiah 14:24

One amazing thing about God is that He does not change and He does what he promises. He has decided on many things for us. He decided to send His son to die on a cross for us. He decided to forgive us as many times as we need forgiveness.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9

He said He knew us from the womb.

Did not he who made me in the womb make them?

Did not the same one form us both within our mothers?

Job 31:15 NIV

He said He would give us joy.

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

John 15:9-11 NIV

He said we would be persecuted.

In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

2 Timothy 3:12 NIV

So, when I read this verse, when I read the words - It will all happen as I have planned. It will be as I have decided. - I was moved. I have to move past my own understanding. I have to move past my own desires. I have to move past my idols. I have to KNOW that Jesus is in control. And I have to ask Him what is next.

Pray with me today…

Jesus, help me to trust You. Help me to trust Your guidance in all things and in all moments. Help me to continually recognize Your majesty, Your care for me, and Your love. And, help me to share You with others. In the Name of Jesus, Amen

I highlighted this…

”The Lord Almighty has sworn, “Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will happen. I will crush the Assyrian in my land; on my mountains I will trample him down. His yoke will be taken from my people, and his burden removed from their shoulders.”“

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭14‬:‭24‬-‭25‬ ‭NIV‬‬

These words today and the way you said it is exactly what I needed. Amen, God you are so good!
