Undone But Able

ISAIAH 6
In Isaiah Chapter 6, we see a vision that Isaiah has of God on His throne. It is
impossible for me to imagine what that looks like. I can only think about how majestic
the world is that God created and think that it is nothing compared to heaven and God’s
throne.

Isaiah kind of falls apart when he sees it. He is in awe. I too have found myself in awe
of God. When I look around the world and see all that He has made, or what His
creation has created, I am in awe. When I feel His presence, I am in awe. It is as though
Isaiah crumbles in front of God, he is overcome.
Then I said, “It’s all over! I am doomed, for I am a sinful man. I have filthy lips, and I live
among a people with filthy lips. Yet I have seen the King, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.”
Isaiah 6:5 NLT

Isaiah is undone by seeing his sin next to a holy God. I can relate to that. My sin is so
clear when I am close to God. It is red as scarlet. I can’t unsee it. I feel it in the core of
my being. It unravels me and causes me to bow and surrender to the one that made
me.
The good news of the gospel, and Isaiah experienced it, is that God doesn’t leave us in
that undone state. When I acknowledge my sin, my need for Him, His righteousness,
God purifies us just like He did for Isaiah.

Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal he had taken from the altar
with a pair of tongs. He touched my lips with it and said, “See, this coal has touched
your lips. Now your guilt is removed, and your sins are forgiven.”
Isaiah 6:6-7 NLT
God removes our sins and forgives us. I am again in awe and undone. The God of the
universe, the creator of all things, come close and invites us to be part of the work.

Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people?
Who will go for us?”
I said, “Here I am. Send me.”
Isaiah 6:8 NLT
We can partner with Him and His work!! In my power, I am weak. I am unable to do
what He asks on my own. The reality is, I am not supposed to. I am made strong
through Him, and He gives me what I need to what He asks.

Prayer: Jesus, thank you for your incredible creation. I am overwhelmed by the beauty all
around me. You made the sun, the stars, the oceans, all the creatures, trees and
flowers. You invite me to be part of Your kingdom, Your holy work on this earth. I
struggle with the words to tell you how awesome you are and how grateful I am. Thank you for Your love. Thank you for equipping me to do the work You have called me to. Here I am, send me.
I love your reminder at the end that we are invited to PARTNER with God in HIS work.
Real symbiotic partnership isn’t I do you watch or you do and I watch. It’s together, all at once. It’s my invitation for Him to move through me and His invitation for me to work through Him. It’s His work and I mustn’t ever do it on my own, because then it becomes my work, and honestly what good is that?
Thank you, Jesus, for the blood that washes us whiter than snow!
With it he touched my mouth and said, “ See, this has touched your lips; YOUR GUILT is taken away and your SIN ATONED for.” NIV
One of the things I struggled in the past was, though I knew the Lord had forgiven every sin, I struggled to forgive myself and at times the guilt overwhelmed me. I believe God knew some of us would carry the guilt, and He reminds us again, sin and Guilt is removed! What freedom we have in Him! Amen!
