There’s No Rock Like Me

ISAIAH 44
God, King of Israel, your Redeemer, God-of-the-Angel-Armies, says: "I'm first, I'm last, and everything in between.. I'm the only God there is. Who compares with me? Speak up. See if you measure up. From the beginning, who else has always announced what's coming? So what is coming next? Anybody want to venture a try? Don't be afraid, and don't worry: Haven't I always kept you informed, told you what was going on? You're my eyewitnesses: Have you ever come across a God, a real God, other than me? There's no Rock like me that I know of."
Isaiah 44:6-8 MSG
The majesty of God is beyond my comprehension. I am eagerly reminded
of the my small humanity when I read chapters like Isaiah 44 and the
verses within them.
My existence is only because of God. It seems that it should not be easy to
forget. Thank you, historic Israelites for showing me how easy it was for
you to forget. How easy it is for humanity to go through life forgetting the
Creator and forgetting to worship the Creator.
God does not forget me. He does not forget you. He has not forgotten,
even, those that deny Him. These words that He spoke to Israel are still
true. He is still the first, the last, and everything in between. He will always
be the first, the last, and everything in between.

I am assured today of this for my life. If I know this, I must be more
intentional about acknowledging Him. There is no reason not to live in the
comfort that God offers in these verses. When I acknowledge Him first and
last and in between - the worries and the weight and the questions of this
life are smaller, while the love and joy and peace of this life are larger.
Yet, it is easy to forget. I get so caught up in the beauty and stress of the
life that God has given me. I have made what I would define as fairly
significant changes in my day to day. I start out more mornings in prayer
and reading God’s Word than any other stage of life. While it is good, I
know that it is not enough because even though I start out my day that way,
there are days that pass by without much thought about that morning
prayer, without much thought about all the people I prayed for in the
morning, without much thought about the continuance of those morning
prayers. I am understanding more what Paul meant when he wrote:
Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-8 MSG
My background thoughts can be always upon Jesus. I do not have to leave
my prayers in the morning, but need to carry them with me thought the day.
Thankfully, I do not have know exactly how to make this transformation.
Jesus will help me. I am confident that He will continue to guide me and
transform me to become more like Him.
Reflect and share today, if you’d like, about how Jesus is changing you to
become more like Him.

Pray with me today.
Jesus, I am so thankful for Your majesty, for Your patience. You are the
only rock that I need to cling to. Thank you for the continued transformation
in my day to day life. You are with in the great things and in the small
things, in the lovely things and in the horrific things. There are not always
answers for why, but You are still present and majestic and Holy in the
questions. I love you, Jesus. Thank you for loving me in the beginning, in
the ending, and all the days in between.
Amen❤️
