Let’s Go

Hosea 6

Come on, let’s go back to God. He hurt us, but he’ll heal us. He hit us hard, but he’ll put us right again. In a couple of days we’ll feel better. By the third day he’ll have made us brand-new, Alive and on our feet, fit to face him. We’re ready to study God, eager for God-knowledge. As sure as dawn breaks, so sure is his daily arrival. He comes as rain comes, as spring rain refreshing the ground.

Oh, that we might know the Lord! Let us press on to know him. He will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring.

I thought of a line from a worship song, “where else would I go”,  when I read this.  

Yet, I end up going to many places.  I might not entirely leave God, it might be temporary but I still do it.  

He is the source of life. He is the answer.  There is no one else that knows me better.  

So why do I not seek Him first?   I wish I knew.  My human frailty? My pride? My rebellious heart?

Maybe all of these.  

Still, God is there.  He is ready like the sun rising to welcome me in.  I do desire to know Him more, to lean in and hear His whisper.  Even when He corrects me,  He is kind and good.

Jesus, you are good. You are love.  I always feel better after I come to you.  Help me to come to you first.  Forgive my restless heart and mind. Help me focus on You.  You are the source of life.
