Never forget

Hosea 13

I cared for you in the wilderness, in the land of burning heat. When I fed them, they were satisfied; when they were satisfied, they became proud; then they forgot me.

Hosea 13:5-6 NIV

In this chapter, the Lord has gotten angry with Israel again. They began worshipping other gods making idols and offering human sacrifices. The Lord has taken care of them and provided for them but they have forgotten.

The verse above makes me think a lot about what the Lord has done for me and my family. It is so easy to forget about the things the Lord has protected me from or provided for. It must have been the same way for the people of Israel. I imagine back then, they had to constantly tell the story of how God protected them. They didn’t have Facebook memories to serve as a reminder of all the things the Lord has done. I often forget to talk about the great things the Lord has done in my life to my son.  

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for always finding a way to encourage me through your word. I never want to forget all that you have done for us. I want my family to know how amazing you are. Give me opportunities to share your goodness with my family so that we never forget your love. In Jesus' name Amen.
