Picture Perfect

Ephesians 2
Have you ever painted a paint by number? Some of them don’t seem too hard, but some are really hard. They have small spaces with labels that are hard to read. You have to find the right color for each spot, and have the right brush. You might need different kinds of paints or need to mix colors.
Have you ever painted on a blank canvas?

I have not. I don’t think it would turn out looking very good. I can’t imagine the skill it takes.
I have a friend who sculpts with wood. He says that he sees the image in the wood and then brings it out by removing the pieces that don’t belong.
That is what God does. He saw us before we were flesh, who we would be, even today at this moment. He has been taking away pieces that don’t fit and creating a beautiful image.

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
Ephesians 2:10 NLT.
God is the master. Master creator, gardener, painter, mediator, waymaker, etc!

He can make anything from nothing or something beautiful from a lump of dirt.
Masterpieces take time, years even to complete.
I know that our Master is still creating in all of us. He is making all things new and beautiful.
Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 NLT

PRAYER: Thank you Jesus for who you are creating us to be. Thank you for seeing potential where we see dirt.
Amen! As I read this I make a mental imagine of how God continues to work in my life….❤️
