Pay Attention

Isaiah 18
”All you people of the world, everyone who lives on the earth— when I raise my battle flag on the mountain, look! When I blow the ram’s horn, listen!“
Isaiah 18:3 NLT
You may have noticed that God's judgment is still on the people. Today the message is for Ethiopia. This is a confusing book for me to read. I know I can’t be the only one! I would love to read your thoughts in the comments!
Isaiah is telling the people of Ethiopia to pay attention and watch for his signals. I think about my life and how easy it is to get distracted. There is always something going on that I can fill my day up with. There is always another basketball practice, lunch date, family gathering, or work event. Although these things are not bad, they can really steal my attention and drown out whispers of God if I let them.
”For the Lord has told me this: “I will watch quietly from my dwelling place— as quietly as the heat rises on a summer day, or as the morning dew forms during the harvest.”“
Isaiah 18:4 NLT
Even though I seem to get so busy with all of the things of this world, God is always nearby. I’m so thankful for his presence.

Prayer: Lord thank you for always being near to me and my family even when we don’t put you first. Every day I learn something new from your word. Help me unpack it even deeper and apply it to my everyday life. In Jesus' name. Amen

I love the reminder that many things that we busy ourselves with are not bad, but they do often take our eyes off Jesus. So important and often difficult to remain intentional. Even more reason for me to remember to make time with Jesus first and to make SOAPing a daily routine ❤️
