Love Changes Everything

Love Changes Everything

ISAIAH 29

What sorrow awaits those who try to hide their plans from the Lord, who do their evil deeds in the dark! “The Lord can’t see us,” they say. “He doesn’t know what’s going on!”

Isaiah 29:15 NLT

As we go further into this book of Isaiah, God’s love for His people is continuously evident. We read about people making bad decisions, being rescued and restored by God, coming back to God, making bad decisions again. The cycle continues throughout history. God’s redemption always wins. God’s love always wins.

How foolish can you be? He is the Potter and he is certainly greater than you, the clay! Should the created thing say of the one who made it, “He didn’t make me”? Does a jar ever say, “The potter who made me is stupid”?

Isaiah 29:16 NLT

I am humbly learning, day after day, about the miraculous love of my Potter. His love changes everything.

I have been thinking lately about how I view the situations in my life. I cannot of think of any time recently that I dared to call my Potter “stupid”, but have I had many complaints about the struggles in life. And they often feel stupid. It is never wrong to ask “why?”. But, what comes after the “why?” For me, right now, after the “why?”, there is a immeasurable peace in the realization that the love of Jesus for me changes everything.

Look at this verses later in chapter 29:

The humble will be filled with fresh joy from the Lord. The poor will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. The scoffer will be gone, the arrogant will disappear, and those who plot evil will be killed.

Isaiah 29:19-20 NLT

Peace will come. Peace will come in the trials, in the struggles, in the pain. We will all have burdens to bear here on earth. It is in heaven that there will be no trials, no struggles, no pain. By choosing to live each day, we are choosing to wait for the absolute peace. By choosing to fall forward towards Jesus, we are choosing to endure.

Let’s share this time of waiting, this time of endurance - together. Let’s be with each other through the pain and through the struggle with the knowledge that it is earthly, it has an end. The end is heaven.

Prayer: Jesus, thank you for the gift of this life to share with others. You help us grow with each other and through our struggles in the days of this earthly life. You never leave us. Your love changes everything. I declare Your peace today for us. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Rachel, you expressed my thoughts exactly. Struggles hurt and are definitely something that we do not want to go through. I am trying to view these pains as growing pains vs pain that is meant to tear me down. Lord, help me to keep my focus on you and not my situations.

This is so beautiful. It brought me to tears today. I have been thinking recently how selfish I am to think my life should be without struggle. Why do we think things should be easy? I guess because that is easier and our human nature is to desire the path of least resistance. The thing is though… when I look back. My trials and struggles are the very things that brought me closer to Jesus. The things that made me cry out and seek him. I can see that now. And yet i still wonder.. what the heck?!?

I am so thankful for the sacrifices Jesus made for me. I am so thankful for my struggles and how they lead…
