Now is the Time!

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.”
Luke 2:11
This day! Carpe diem! This expression means to pluck the day. It's used to encourage someone to make the most of the present time with urgency and give little thought to the future.
It sounds slightly misleading but here me out. Be diligent with the opportunities given to you today. Don't slumber and put off to tomorrow what can be done today. Refuse, to allow future events or unknowns to steal your present-day. Pluck the day. Let it be singular, living this day to the fullest, as the best version of you.

“A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep—”
Proverbs 6:10 NKJV
“Refuse to worry about tomorrow, but deal with each challenge that comes your way, one day at a time. Tomorrow will take care of itself.””
Matthew 6:34 TPT

How would you live if you only had today? What would you do, say, share, or give if today was the summation of your entire life? Would you be gracious? Full of joy? Give forgiveness? Release bitterness? What is the memory you'd want to leave of yourself?
“So be very careful how you live, not being like those with no understanding, but live honorably with true wisdom, for we are living in evil times. Take full advantage of every day as you spend your life for his purposes. And don’t live foolishly for then you will have discernment to fully understand God’s will.”
Ephesians 5:15-17 TPT

Are you wondering what this has to do with advent? Let this proclamation of the angel of the Lord echo in your spirit:
“For today in Bethlehem a rescuer was born for you. He is the Lord Yahweh, the Messiah”
Luke 2:11 TPT
I believe part of the gift of Jesus is that living “this” way is made possible. Today, is the day of salvation! None of it is possible without Him, but anything is possible with Him! You have a rescuer, Redeemer who was born for you, receive it again like it was the first time today!

Prayer: Thank you Father that we can live today fully. We can live an abundant life! Abunant hope! Abundant love! Abundant joy! Abundant peace! And we can live today this way regardless of circumstances. Help us live today the way we want to be remembered. Not leaving anything for tomorrow that can be done today. Thank you for your grace and mercy that makes this possible. In Jesus's name, amen.

Cookie Exchange
Get a group of friends together and commit to make 4-6 dozen cookies each. Generally speaking I would suggest 1 dozen cookies per person involved. Pick a tried and true recipe and get baking. From one friend to another, I highly recommend picking a simple recipe too.
Grab some packaging materials and be ready to pack up your goodies. These don't come home with me. Depending on how many cookies you make I divide them equally amongst the boxes. This year I'm including invites to our Christmas Services with each box.

Thank you for this encouragement.
I choose to seize this day, the day the Lord has made, and give it my best. That’s my prayer for every day. Most days I fall short, but I’m going to give it another shot today. Amen!
