Bold Praise

ISAIAH 12
Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world.
Isaiah 12:5 NIV
There is such joy in this verse! Singing to the Lord and letting the world know he is worthy of all praise! I think as a society we praise all the time. Co-workers for a job well done. Leaders for good decisions. Companies for great service.
We are made to want to praise and even cynical people will praise someone or something, sometimes. But no person, thing or act deserves our praise more than God. If we are going to praise at all, God should receive it first. God should receive it the most. And God loves praise in the form of a song – just think of many of David's psalms to God! I know for myself worship is where I can often fully surrender to praising God for all He is!
Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens.
Psalm 8:1 NIV
We need to be bold and purposeful in our praise. I have been trying to be more bold in my prayers. Not just praying blessings and peace on someone (though that is a very good thing). But praying specific, pointed, life giving prayers of need. Asking God boldly for miracles, healings and wisdom for people. I can feel the difference when I pray that way. When I just pour out to God what I need, what I am asking of him.

And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
Luke 11:9-10 NIV
I just last week found out that the daughter-in-law of a very close friend was diagnosed with breast cancer. This young woman has two children ages 5 and 2. My heart is broken for her. I found myself crying out to the Lord. Cure her of this cancer, take all of it from her body and bind it up. Wisdom for the doctors. A miracle for her that this cancer will be gone, and singing “The Blessing” over her life.
I found out yesterday through further testing there is a mass, but it is completely benign and there is no sign of cancer! Bold Prayers! “Sing to the Lord; he has done glorious things.”

Prayer: Father, you are excellent. Thank you for choosing me, for saving me and for drawing me to you. Let me think about it daily and remember how much better you are than any other. I want to give you all the praise. Let me be purposeful, with boldness, in my praise of you. Whether by song, spoken testimony or my daily actions. Help me to be bold when I glorify you. In Jesus’s name I pray, Amen.
I love that God used your bold praise and prayer to heal and restore her. It takes selfless, full faith, surrendered cries for us to learn, to experience, to see what He has and always will be.
Shouting AMEN! This gave me full body goosebumps! Thank you Jesus for that news! I too find that during worship songs I can fill surrender. The music fills my heart and I can feel the Holy Spirit. It’s like he’s alive in me and I cannot contain it! I’m very type A so it can be hard for me to let go and surrender.
